    Ingram Micro, Inc. IM is a Fortune 100 company founded in 1979 and based in Santa Ana, California. It is the world’s largest technology distributor and a leading technology sales, marketing and logistics company. The company distributes and markets IT products from computer hardware suppliers, networking equipment suppliers, and software publishers worldwide.

    Ingram Micro has four primary product categories: networking products, software, systems, and peripherals.

    In addition, it offers a number of supply chain management services to its suppliers and resellers. Services related to its distribution business include sales and marketing, customer care, financial services, and logistics.

    Ingram Micro now has services in 150 countries and is the only global IT distributor with operations in Asia.

    In June 2006, Ingram Micro has made a strategic partnership with Infosys technologiesdate = November 2007 to maintain their IT systems for a period of 5 years.

    The company split off from the large family business Ingram Industries. Ingram family members Martha Rivers Ingram and John Rivers Ingram are the company's largest individual shareholders.

    In March 2007 Ingram Micro joined forces with Cisco, Level Platforms, Intel and Microsoftdate = November 2007 to form an industry alliance known as MSP Partners, to create a common source of comprehensive education on the subject of managed services for their respective channel partners and resellers.

    The company was founded by Bronson Ingram.
